The Daily Nickel

1. Neftali's Start-  Scorelessness is good, but control was lacking.  As long as he's only pitching two innings there isn't much difference from what he was doing as a closer.  Crush Davis is lighting it up at the plate and holding it down at 3rd base defensively... he's the D-Fdub's favorite player that has never done anything good in the big leagues.

2. Mavs Sign Brewer-  Nothing much new here, save the interesting tidbit that Brewer turned down more money elsewhere to become a Maverick.  Anyone expecting much impact from Brewer this season will likely be dissapointed.  He may bring some quality defensive minutes off the bench, but he won't get off it much in meaningful moments.  He is young though, and has strong potential for contributing more in the years to come.

3. NFL Lockout Delayed- The owners and players finally agreed on something... to delay the lockout by 24 hours.

4. Bob Sanders to theCowboys?- Could be a good fit, even if he only plays half the season. The Cowboys haven't had a playmaker at that position since Darren Woodson, and they've never had anyone that fast back there.

5. Mansion For Sale-  Apparently Jamarcus Russell isn't any better at real estate than he was at football.  His house is set for foreclosure now.  Sometimes you never get around to winning some.
