Dallas avoided a letdown after the big win last night against Boston by jumping on Charlotte early. They kept the pedal down, never let up and coasted to an easy 101-92 W, pushing their overall win streak to 8. The Mavs are still the only team in the league the Bobcats have never beaten.
The story of the night was Tyson Chandler's return to the team that traded him to Dallas for basically nothing.
After spending most of last season injured and barely able to crack the starting lineup in Charlotte, TC has played like an all-star for Dallas while turning the Mavs into a legit contender. He played with great energy all night despite not getting to sleep until 6am after the comeback against Boston. Dirk led the team w/ 25, JET tossed in 21 off the bench, and Tyson added 15 boards along with his usual hand-full of sick dunks.
The Mavs are the hottest team in the NBA right now, while the Bobcats basically suck. Seriously, this team is loaded with crappy has-beens or never-was's. They played a total of 9 guys, including Shaun Livingston, Eddie Najera, Kwame Brown, Nazr Mohammed, Gerald Henderson and Boris Diaw. Excited Charlotte fans? Young DJ Augustin, Crazy Steven Jackson and the supposedly good guy that cant shoot Gerald Wallace (also known as the young Shawn Marion) carry this team, although not very well. Crazy Steven Jackson has been the subject of many a trade rumor, some involving our Mavs, and I wouldnt be surprised to see him moved before the deadline. He's a chemistry risk, but I'm not sold on Peja or this 3 guard lineup as being our answer. If they're just looking to dump salary again like with Chandler, I'd be open to it. Peja is supposed to be back next week. Needless to say, I'm anxious to see what he brings to the table.
