1. Mavs lose to the Lakers- What did we learn from this game? Dirk is amazing and just about ever other Maverick stinks. Shouldn't I have learned this five years ago? Shame on me. I bought into the Tyson Factor (7 pts, 10 boards, but no blocked shots and very little impact defensively) making a difference and now I want my money back.
2. Five players are ejected in the Mavs/Lakers game- Jason Terry wanted to show that he was tough, so he pushed an off-balanced, goofy looking scrub to the floor. Craziness ensued and when all was said and done, Matt Barnes, Jason Terry, Steve Blake, and Brendan Haywood hit the showers early (so did Shannon Brown but his ejection came later). Hey JET, try showing that you are tough by going to the hole once in a while, ok? Especially when you are shooting a horrendous 22% from the field.
3. JET doesn't back up trash talk- Before the game, JET said this on the Galloway and Company radio show, ""I don't think Kobe wants to chase me or Roddy around the court all night, I just don't think they can do it. They're a little older in the backcourt. I'd love to see it happen." Well, the Lakers didn't have to chase JET around because he just stood there shooting off-target jumpers.....and yes, Kobe loved to see it happen.
4. Chris Webber is ridiculous- If you watched TNT's postgame show, C-Webb spends a whole segment displaying his Dirk jealousy. If you watched Webber's career, you already knew that he was ridiculous.
5. Rangers remain undefeated after Opening Day- That's the good news. The bad news, they didn't get to play. The Rangers sat out Opening Day, but they do get to play tonight against the Red Sox.
FYI, Napoli gets the start at 1st base for Game # 1- After the D-FDub's trip to Arizona last weekend, we could see greatness from Napoli. Our prediction, he'll be the starting catcher eventually. For now, he'll have to settle for starting at 1st base.
